Volunteers (volunteers). Class hour. Who are volunteers? What is volunteering class hour

Hello.
In our fast-paced times, people don’t often think about other people; it seems like everyone has enough of their own to do and problems. To draw the children's attention to this problem, we held a class hour.
I would like to present to your attention a class hour that took place this week. Class topic “Whoever helps people has his wishes come true.” Prepared and conducted a class hour Zotkina Lisa.

There are, as always, not enough good people...
There are, as always, not enough good people,
There is, as always, a shortage of kind people.
Kind people are not always understood
The hearts of the kind hurt more.
Kind people generously help the sick,
Kind ones - they give warmth and comfort,
The good ones walk in step with the weak ones
And no thanks are expected.
(Genrikh Akulov)

This is what Lisa was talking about. I provide the detailed text.

We live in strange times when many of us tend to think only about ourselves and our well-being. The general pursuit of maximum comfort and all kinds of pleasures leads to the fact that the souls of many become callous. We easily pass by the grief of others, not paying attention to the weak and needy, we try to protect ourselves from any negativity, forgetting that life is fleeting and often cruel.

Compassion for one's neighbor and a willingness to help one's own kind are necessary conditions for the survival of society.Help is a unique way of communication between people, sometimes with kind words, sometimes with deeds or actions. Therefore, the question of how to help people is very relevant. If you look around, you can see how many of our fellow citizens need support and immediate assistance. Children, old people, disabled people – these are the weakest and most defenseless categories of the population.

Help for the elderly.

In our country, the most socially vulnerable people remain the elderly - especially the lonely, frail, and seriously ill. Traditionally, assistance for the elderly is provided on the eve of May 9 - and after that people are forgotten about again for almost a year.

We cannot turn a blind eye to the problems of older people. They lived their lives for the sake of future generations, and deserved our respect, support and real help. Anyone can help the elderly. Here are some practical steps to do this:

Look around: perhaps there is a lonely sick person living next door to you, who from time to time needs to replenish food supplies and buy medicine at the pharmacy, but it is difficult for him to do this himself. Not all older people have relatives either. So old men and women hobble through the ice to the store and pharmacy, risking falling and breaking their arm or leg. And if such a person gets sick, he often finds himself in a disastrous and helpless situation. Anyone can help the elderly. Take a closer look at your neighbors: which of them needs your support?

Here are some practical steps for this: for example, if correspondence has not been removed from a certain mailbox for a long time, and you know that a lonely elderly person or disabled person lives in this apartment, ring his doorbell and ask what happened and why he doesn’t leave the house for a long time, just talk like a human being, tell him something good, share his joy. Or take a walk with an elderly person, give him a tour, take him to an event (concert, cinema, play), help him buy the necessary medicines, you can also help with repairs or cleaning, give him a gift for the holiday, and be sure to include beautiful postcards or children’s drawings with the gift.

Who is a volunteer

A volunteer is a person who is willing to voluntarily spend a part of himself and his time for the benefit of society as a whole or a specific person. Sometimes people confuse the concepts a little and call those who did not receive payment for any work performed a volunteer. This is wrong, because... The goal of a volunteer is not to work for free, but to benefit society and the people around him, to make the world a better place. However, gratuitousness is one of the basic principles of the volunteer movement, but it is not an end in itself.

A real volunteer should try to be an example of morality, selflessness, be able to cooperate and work with a variety of colleagues and segments of the population.

Volunteer help is always needed in nursing homes and boarding schools for the disabled. We cannot turn a blind eye to the problems of older people. They lived their lives for the sake of future generations, and deserved our respect, support and real help. We are all different. And a person with a kind heart who can come to the aid of someone in need can become a volunteer.

Help for orphans.

We are accustomed to the fact that most of us and our friends have parents, and the problem of abandoned children seems so far from us. But if you think about it, you realize that quite a large number of children, for one reason or another, were left without parental care. As was said earlier, orphanages are the first thing that comes to mind when you think about how to help people. And yet there is always a lack of help there. After all, there are a lot of children who, by the will of fate, find themselves in the care of the state, and each of them requires care, affection, and attention.

In these places live people who are always happy when something new comes into their lives: a new person, a new story, a new hope. After all, children in orphanages are most happy not with gifts or things, but with the people themselves who visited them. You can make a game for children, delight them with a story or fairy tale. Are they getting all this in the proper quantities? Of course not! Sponsors can send toys, arrange a children's party, but the child needs constant attention.

The question then arises: how to help orphans?
1. Assistance in the social adaptation of children in orphanages. All boys and girls should have a person who is ready to devote at least a few hours a week to him: showing him the world, communicating, providing spiritual and material support.
2.Assistance in treatment. Volunteers help children receive highly qualified treatment; for this they negotiate with medical institutions. During treatment, they do not leave children alone, providing all possible support and helping in rehabilitation.
3. Help in finding adoptive parents. Such work takes a lot of time and effort from volunteers, because searches are carried out not only in the region.

To do this, it is necessary to conclude an agreement to post information about the orphan on a special website. Next, a photo shoot is held, the information is published in various media, attracting maximum attention.

Having visited an orphanage at least once, you will understand how important your words, attention, and kindness are to children! Such moments fill life with meaning.

Caring for our little brothers, helping animals.

I believe that there are a lot of good hearts, but not everyone has the opportunity to pick them up, warm them and give them shelter. And then you walk down the street - you see the eyes of a dog or kitten - and your heart just bleeds. But it seems like you can’t do anything... In fact, you can! And a lot! I'll give you a hint now...

The most important thing for homeless people is water. Especially in winter and summer. Such a simple and costless liquid is a salvation for them at this time. In the heat, they are ready to walk many kilometers to find at least some puddle. It costs nothing to cut off a five-liter bottle and place the resulting bowl under the dripping air conditioner. An unnecessary pan or cup will also work. Next is food. Experts do not recommend adding dry food if there is no water nearby. It's dangerous and more likely to cause harm

for the animal than the benefit. Dry food is a travel option in any weather that won’t go to waste and won’t stink in your bag. But you can go further (or closer) if you want. Closer is simply not throwing bones and bread from the table into a bucket. Place in a separate bag. On the way to school or just taking out the trash, you will meet a lot of people who want to finish it.

In addition to food and water, you can help by building a shelter. In cold weather, it is very important to get into the warmth at least for a short time in order to warm up. If you are not indifferent, you can notice how yesterday's puppies and kittens are shaking in the snow in the open air. You can put together a small box from any available means and put it in a shelter - it will definitely find its owner, feel free to set up shelters for the winter, at least under balconies.
Shelters for homeless animals also need our help. How can we help the shelter residents? For example:
- bring food for the animals;
- walking animals on a specially equipped area or on a leash (feeding, cleaning);
- care (combing, trimming nails, medical examination, etc.);

Communication, getting used to people, is the most enjoyable part of the job!

When do people begin to think about the question: what is most important in my life - good or evil? By what principles should I live my life? What beliefs should you rely on to feel happy and satisfied with life?

Basically, everything is ingrained in us in childhood. And it's not even about what we hear

from parents and teachers - children learn from the personal example of adults. When we or our loved ones get into trouble and receive completely selfless help, then we think and understand how valuable kindness is compared to other human factors. By doing good, a person receives some kind of inner joy, pleasure from it.

A poem about kindness.
This word is serious
The main thing is important.
What does it mean
Very necessary for everyone.
It contains care and affection,
Warmth and love.
There is aspiration in him
Come to the rescue
Again and again.
This is quality
Lives in the hearts of many
And about the pain of others
Doesn't let you forget.
And it's more important
Than facial beauty.
Guess what it is
Hearts of KINDNESS.

Flower of Kindness

Friends, what qualities do you think a kind person should have? Let's all together make our flower of kindness bloom with bright colors.

To do this, we need to name each petal one of the qualities of a good person. Guess these qualities from the description:
  • A feeling of heartfelt affection for people, the Motherland (love).
  • Kind, gentle in character, gentle (good nature).
  • Restraint in revealing one's merits, merits, non-boastfulness (modesty).
  • Affectionate, showing love (tenderness).
  • Willingness to help someone in difficult times (mercy).
  • Pity, sympathy caused by someone's misfortune (compassion).
  • Love of work (hard work).
I’ll start, and you finish, answer in unison.
1. Even a block of ice will melt from a warm word......thank you
2. The old stump will turn green when it hears.......good afternoon
3. When you are scolded for pranks, you say......excuse me, please
4. If a friend is in trouble...... help him
5. Resolve disputes with words, not..... with fists
6. If someone helps you in word or deed, do not hesitate to speak loudly and boldly..... thank you
7. If we can’t eat anymore, we’ll tell mom.....thank you
8. If the sun sets and the trees turn golden, then when we meet everyone we know..... good evening
9. The boy, polite and developed, says when meeting....hello

Many of us have younger brothers and sisters and we remember how difficult it can be to feed them porridge. Now for a moment we will turn into dads and moms. Task: to feed your “capricious” baby, not scolding, but persuading him.

Note: Sasha turned out to be a super dad. He spoke kind words, and so affectionately and kindly, and his spoon was either an airplane or a typewriter, and he fed the “daughter” for dad and mom. Well, it was such a touching thing to watch! Well done, Sasha!

And at the end Lisa read the following verses:

Nikolai Zabolotsky “Old Age”

Simple, quiet, gray-haired,
They have golden leaves
They look, walking until dark.

Their speech is already laconic,
Every look is clear without words,
But their souls are bright and even
They talk about a lot.

In the vague darkness of existence
Their destiny was inconspicuous,
And the life-giving light of suffering
It burned slowly above them.

Exhausted like cripples,
Under the weight of your weaknesses,
Into one forever
Their living souls merged.

And knowledge is a small particle
Revealed to them in their declining years,
That our happiness is just a flash of lightning,
Only a distant faint light.

It flashes upon us so rarely,
This takes work!
It fades so quickly
And disappears forever!

No matter how you cherish it in your palms
And no matter how you press it to your chest, -
Child of the dawn, on light horses
It will rush off to a distant land!

Simple, quiet, gray-haired,
He is with a stick, she is with an umbrella, -
They have golden leaves
They look, walking until dark.

Now it’s probably easier for them,
Now everything terrible is gone,
And only their souls are like candles,
The last warmth is pouring out.

Thanks to Lisa and her family for preparing and hosting the class!

Who are volunteers you ask?

The word “volunteer” comes from the French word, which means volunteer, willing.

Volunteering is a volunteer movement developed in many countries of the world, aimed at improving life.

A volunteer is a being of the future, a citizen of the world, humanity’s chance for survival.

Volunteer movements are free unions of people united by some interest.

It’s not for nothing that Volunteer Day exists. After all, with the help of volunteers, many summer fires were extinguished, assistance was provided to fire victims, volunteers participated in donation campaigns, and much more.

Any young person aged 14 to 30 who wants to devote his free time, energy and skills to voluntary work can become a volunteer.

You are like home to us.

Every day early in the morning for a date

We are preparing carefully with you!"

School, native village, our area...

We live in Altai and, of course, love our region. And how can you not love the corner of the earth where you were born and live!

The Altai Territory borders the Novosibirsk region, the Kemerovo region, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Altai Republic.

In our region there are 60 districts, 12 cities of regional subordination, 14 urban-type settlements and 1,621 rural settlements.

Altai is a pearl, the pride of Siberia, a fabulous land. Altai is our beautiful home.

The Altai Territory is inhabited by more than 80 nationalities and nationalities.

Altai is boundless steppes, huge lakes, fast-moving rivers and dense taiga. There are few places in the world where you can see literally everything: from semi-deserts to mountain glaciers.

A poem about Altai, written by Barnaul schoolboy Vitaly Krasnorutskikh.

I walk slowly along the foothills of Altai.
The beauty here is so breathtaking.

There is a steep skyline and snow-capped mountains.
Here are the Altai people and their native expanses.

Here a birch tree stands, clinging to the slopes of the mountains,
Whispering something to the wind, swaying slightly.

Here the forests are green and the sunset is so beautiful, -
The steppes are full of secrets. Who decorated my land like this?

I live in Barnaul - I don’t need anything else.
And in dreams, in reality - for me he is a reward.

There is space and peace here. And I will say without a doubt:
This is my home - a corner of inspiration!

Translated from ancient Turkic languages, Altai means “golden”. This name reflects legends about the countless riches of nomadic tribes, real deposits of gold in the generous land, and the unique beauty of their native country.

Barnaul- administrative center of the Altai Territory (since 1937). Located in the south of Western Siberia at the confluence of the Barnaulka River and the Ob.

A large industrial, cultural, medical and educational center of Siberia.

Since 2007, higher education in Barnaul is provided by nine state universities, as well as several branches and representative offices of universities from other cities of the country. The city's two largest universities: Altai State University (AltSU) and Altai State Technical University (AltSTU) are among the top 100 universities in the country.

In addition, there are branches and representative offices of universities from other cities.

In Barnaul, specialists with specialized secondary education are trained in 7 technical schools, 7 colleges, 2 pedagogical schools, a music school, a medical school...

The volunteer movement is spreading in educational institutions.

If you look in the dictionaries, a volunteer is a person who participates (absolutely free of charge) in various socially significant campaigns: disseminating necessary information, preparing and conducting public events.

A volunteer is a person who, working for free, strives to contribute to the implementation of socially significant projects.

Volunteering for a person is an opportunity to gain social experience, receive recommendations for further promotion and career growth.

Our class hour “Volunteer is fashion or goodness.”

If people don't learn to help each other,

Then the human race will disappear from the face of the earth.

So said the world famous British writer. Walter Scott.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 6, 2017 No. 583, in order to develop volunteerism, 2018 was declared the year of the volunteer (volunteer). Volunteering is an important fundamental element of any modern society. It contributes to the aspiration of humanity towards goodness, security, justice and peace. By engaging in volunteer activities, any person has the right to devote his time, knowledge, and energy to other people without expectation of financial reward. Volunteering opens up additional opportunities for friendly communication, interaction with like-minded people, acquiring new knowledge, communication skills, and value orientations, allowing people to discover new opportunities in themselves, realize them in sustainable communities, working in a team to create innovative solutions for the benefit of themselves and other people.

I live as best I can. I live as best I can

I’m going straight along the path outlined for me.

I don’t hide from difficulties, I believe in goodness

And I really want all people to be lucky.

I love good-natured people, but I’m afraid of vile ones,

I always avoid “thick-skinned” people.

I love caring people

And my heart reaches out to their warmth and fire.

My soul is open to earthly beauty,

All good people. You are my brothers!

Task No. 1 Let’s give a definition: “Volunteering is...”

    Volunteering is an opportunity to make the world a happier place.

    Volunteering is the acquisition of practical knowledge necessary to be hired for paid work.

    Volunteering means meeting interesting people.

    Volunteering is about learning skills that can be useful in everyday life.

Volunteering is an integral element of any modern society. Anyone has the opportunity to voluntarily devote their time, talent, and energy to others without expectation of financial reward. Volunteering- the foundation of civil society.

What is volunteering?

Volunteering is an unpaid, conscious, voluntary activity for the benefit of others. Anyone who consciously and selflessly works for the benefit of others can be called a volunteer.

Volunteering is understood differently by different people. However, there are some basic characteristics inherent in volunteering.

Reward. A volunteer must not engage in volunteer activities primarily for financial gain, and any financial compensation must be less than the value of the work performed.

Good will. Activities must be carried out voluntarily, without coercion from outside.

Benefit brought.

Organizational structure. Volunteering can be organized or unorganized, carried out individually or in a group, in public or private organizations.

Unorganized volunteering is spontaneous and occasional help to friends or neighbors. It is the predominant form of volunteering in many cultures. Organized volunteering, on the other hand, occurs in the non-profit, public and private sectors, and tends to be more systematic and regular.

Degree of participation. Although in most cases the degree of involvement in volunteering is constant, it can still be carried out with varying degrees of participation - from full involvement to occasional participation in volunteer activities.

There are several different types of volunteering:

Mutual aid or self-help. People volunteer to help other members of their own social group or community.

Charity or service for the benefit of others. The primary beneficiary is not the member of the group of which the volunteer is a member, but a third party.

Participation and self-government. The role of individuals in the governance process ranges from representation in government advisory bodies to participation in local development projects.

Education or propaganda of any issues relating to certain groups of society.

Volunteering strives to achieve two important results:

It helps in creating a stable and cohesive society.

It complements the services provided by the government.

(and by business - when these services are unprofitable, but necessary for society.)

Who can become a volunteer or

Task No. 2Why do people become volunteers?

    Idea

    interest

    leisure

    need for communication

    creative possibilities

Most often, the answer to this question is this: it can be an adult, skilled and responsible, who can devote his time and skill to voluntary work. Every can become a volunteer in any area of public life where there is a need.

Task No. 3What can volunteers do?

Students collect phrases from the given words: (phrases)

I am an organizer of role-playing games and theatrical performances.

Publishing newspapers, making gifts

I have an active life position

I am a participant in social events

I am a participant in environmental actions

I help in organizing socially significant events

I am for a healthy lifestyle

I'm a counselor

I organize leisure time for children and teenagers

Volunteers can be involved in areas of activity that are not paid but remain important to achieving program goals. For example, visiting patients in hospitals, delivering groceries to elderly people who can no longer leave their homes, working with children at school or drawing attention to a historical monument, etc.

Any work can be done by volunteers. A volunteer is not only an assistant or a social worker who cares about others. He may be a teacher, computer specialist, politician, engineer or designer.

Volunteers can:

Perform tasks not related to permanent paid work;

Add a new dimension and new people to the organization;

Bring new ideas to the organization;

Create public opinion about the organization in society;

Disseminate information about the organization in personal communication with people;

Help with fundraising;

Encourage civic engagement.

Volunteer motivation.

Often the motivation for volunteer work is the need for contact with other people and overcoming feelings of loneliness. Volunteering responds to a natural need to be a member of a group whose values and goals the volunteer can fully align with. Let's check how you feel about this yourself? Answer the following questions:

1. I want to help people in need

2. I hope to learn something new

3. I want to have something to do

4. For your own pleasure

5. I want to meet new people

6. I want to repay people for their kindness with kindness.

7. I want to fight a certain problem

8. I have free time

Often people cannot fulfill all their needs by working only in their profession. In this case, volunteer work can add variety, allowing you to escape from the everyday routine. Volunteer work helps in satisfying needs such as contacts with new people, self-satisfaction, and promotion of certain values.

Task No. 4 Principles of volunteering

    VOLUNTARY: " We work around the clock, but we never take money."

    INDEPENDENCE: “We are governed by needs, not kings”

    UNITY: “We have many ideas, but one ideal”

    VERSATILITY: “We respect nations, but we cross borders to provide assistance.”

    HUMANITY: "We serve people, not systems"

    IMPARTIALITY: "We care about the victims - guilty and innocent"

NEUTRAL: “We take initiatives, but never take sides”

Principles of volunteering

No matter how voluntary work is structured, it has three general principles:

No reward. Voluntary assistance provided by a person or group of people does not provide financial reward. However, an organization that invites a volunteer to do some work can pay for travel expenses, food, special clothing, etc.

Without coercion. The phenomenon of voluntary-forced labor still occurs, for example, when the head of a municipality or a commercial company forces his employees to take part in a subbotnik, or when the dean sends students to march at political rallies instead of a lecture. Such activity may bring some benefit, but it can no longer be considered voluntary.

Benefit to society and people. Volunteer activities must have a socially useful orientation and bring real benefits to a specific recipient, society, and the environment. Activities must take into account the social needs of the community and contribute to the solution of socially significant problems.

Volunteer Commandments:

be responsible in your relationships with each other;

be honest, sincere and friendly, smile at each other;

help others make optimal decisions in conflict situations;

do not make unrealistic promises;

be genuinely interested in other people;

remember that a person’s name is the sweetest and most important sound for him in any language;

try to please people not only internally, but also externally;

remember a sense of proportion;

When helping a person, do not beg for his merits;

strive to make people happy to do what you offer them.

Why do I need all this?

Today, only 5% of the Russian population is involved in volunteer work. However, research shows that more than 40% of people are willing to become more actively involved in community service.

"Why do you need it?" – this is a question that volunteers are asked thousands of times by their friends, relatives, and colleagues. Some people keep silent and laugh it off, others come up with stereotyped answers just to get left behind... Indeed, why, instead of sitting in front of the TV or drinking beer with friends, does this “crazy guy” run off to do something for which not only will he not be paid any money? , but they won’t always say “thank you.” Of course, everyone has their own answer. Here we will try to give the most common motives:

“I just like helping others.” Of course, there are people who, due to their high morality or religious beliefs, help others completely unselfishly. But let's be honest with each other - there are few such people... very few... According to statistics, no more than 7% are altruists. And often those who declare this to be their main motive simply do not want to talk about their true motives or are not even aware of them themselves.

“I have a similar problem and I want to solve it together with others.” The mother of a child with disabilities understands better than others what difficulties such a family faces. She knows that in order for her child to attend a regular school, it must have ramps. Teaming up with other parents or an NGO, she will work to solve their common problem.

Gaining new knowledge and skills. For young people, participation in volunteer projects provides an opportunity to learn things that will be useful to them in their future careers and to develop their organizational and leadership skills. "It's a great party." For young people, this is probably the main motive for participating in volunteer activities - the opportunity to make new acquaintances and communicate with like-minded people, the opportunity to do something together.

“It works for my image.” Gradually, not only in the West, but also in Russia, it is becoming fashionable to be socially responsible and do good deeds. Chulpan Khamatova, Vladimir Pozner, Svetlana Sorokina, Lolita, Gosha Kutsenko and other “stars” have recently become increasingly involved in volunteer activities.

« I want something in life other than a stuffy office, beer and TV.” For many people, volunteering is an opportunity to briefly escape from the usual circle of life, to escape from everyday worries, from eternal conversations about where it is cheaper to buy and more expensive to sell.

I would like to end our class hour with a wish poem:

Be able to overcome obstacles

Both pain and illusory success.

Live without demanding rewards

For your actions for the sake of everyone.

The world is still filled with sadness,

Trouble threatens on the sly

Someone must need you -

Always - like bread or water.

You have to be kind out of habit,

Not by calculation. Come in handy

At least for a little titmouse - Let it go up from its cage. E. Mikhailichenko

Appendix 1. History of volunteering.

From the Russian history of charity and volunteering

The term “volunteering” in its modern understanding, or even more so “volunteering”, was not familiar to Russia until the mid-80s of the 20th century. Until this time, “volunteers” primarily referred to people who, in times of war, without waiting for a mobilization call for military service, went to defend their country, this was the case in both the First World War and the Great Patriotic War. In Soviet times, there were people who, as “volunteers,” went to the Virgin Lands to build the BAM. But for the most part, “volunteering” at that time was associated with events on a Russian scale and was actively supported by the existing ideological machine. Today we mean something different to this term. Volunteering is the voluntary charitable work of people for the benefit of those in need of help. And Russian history knows many examples of this. Catherine the Great and then Empress Maria Feodorovna declared themselves as philanthropists. The numerous charitable institutions founded by the empresses laid the foundation for the Russian system of social charity. The tone was set in accordance with which the patronage of charitable institutions became the main social activity of ladies from the court circle and wives of statesmen. Princess Maria Dondukova-Korsakova became a symbol of female charity. Her many years of selfless service in the field of charity have earned respect in all circles of society - from conservative to the most radical. The princess was known for the fact that, having not received permission to visit the prisoners of the Shlisselburg fortress, she asked to imprison herself in the fortress. But it cannot be said that charity and volunteerism were the lot of only people from high society. History has brought to us many customs of self-help, selfless support of one's neighbor by ordinary people. This includes the joint construction of a new house and collecting donations for the construction of schools, hospitals and churches. Charity in general was one of the few areas of legal civic activity: before 1905, there were no bodies of representative power or electoral law in the Russian Empire, trade unions and parties were prohibited, and various societies and associations were viewed with suspicion. Charity served mercy and at the same time expressed the civic position of the democratic intelligentsia, and therefore was often complex in nature. For example, the structure of the Russian Women's Mutually Benevolent Society at the beginning of the century included courses for the education and training of women, a bureau for finding places and occupations for women, a board for organizing a hostel, and a legal commission. In the 70s of the 19th century, Higher Women's Courses began to operate on a voluntary basis in Moscow, Kazan, Kyiv and St. Petersburg. For its charitable activities, the Russian Women's Mutually Benevolent Society received a gold medal in 1900 at the World Exhibition in Paris. In one of the largest Moscow charitable organizations, the Society for the Care of Needy Children, volunteers worked as fundraisers and visited the poor. Again in Moscow in 1894, on the initiative of Moscow State University professor Vladimir Ivanovich Guerrier, the Moscow City Duma established “City Trustees for the Poor.” "Russian Vedomosti" quotes Garye as saying: "Without the general and friendly participation of all sufficient residents of the capital, the Guardianship will not be able to cope with its task." The duties of the trustee were entrusted with the task of studying the needs of the needy population, raising funds and providing individual assistance. Already in 1899, the Circular of the Ministry of Internal Affairs recommended “extending the experience of Moscow to other cities.” And there were many such organizations. At the turn of the 19th-20th centuries in Russia there were 14,854 charitable institutions, three congresses were held (1886, 1910, 1914) on issues of public charity and private charity. Here are some examples of volunteer activity, based on which we can say that charity and volunteerism are not are something new in our country, brought from abroad.

Appendix 2. Why are volunteers needed?

Study the list of motivations that underlie the recruitment of volunteers for an organization. Select the 5 most important to you (use the ranking method). Justify your choice. Make your changes to the list of motivations (reformulation, addition, exclusion from the list).

List of motivations:

1. Help others.

2. Gaining work experience.

3. Using untapped skills.

4. Acquiring new skills.

5. The ability to get out of the house.

6. Opportunity to be active and involved.

7. Opportunity to meet other people.

8. The opportunity to experience the feeling that someone needs you.

9. The opportunity to try yourself in a new business.

10. Opportunity to learn to be responsible.

11. Opportunity to become a winner.

12. The opportunity to have fun with your family and peers.

13. Gaining recognition from others.

14. Using your talents and abilities.

15. Making dreams come true.

16. Helping a friend.

17. The opportunity to be a person, not an element.

18. Inspiring others.

19. Opportunity to meet other people with the same values.

20. An opportunity to show that you care.

Appendix 3. Path to volunteering

All participants stand up and stand behind the leader. Participants walk like a snake along a path behind each other, with the leader crossing imaginary obstacles, jumping over imaginary ditches, and the rest repeating his movements. The leader can change (he can be at the end of the snake), then everyone has the opportunity to play this role.

An interesting version of the game is when all participants, with their eyes closed, follow the leader in a chain (holding hands). In this case, the obstacles must be real - fallen trees, holes, trees, etc. The players are given the task of not breaking the chain and not losing their neighbor. During the game, the participants develop trust in each other, and a desire to help the comrade following you appears.

It is good for the presenter to have two assistants who will help him ensure the safety of the players.

Appendix 4. Basket of good deeds.

Materials: a basket or bag with small items (for example, Kinder Surprise toys, badges, etc.). The number of items must exceed the number of group members.

Procedure. The leader walks in a circle with a basket containing various small objects. Participants, without looking into the basket, take one item. When everyone is ready, the presenter invites everyone to find some connection between this subject and the concept of volunteering. The story begins with the participant who first received the toy. For example:"I got a ball. It reminds me of the globe. I think volunteering should be spread all over the world ".

Appendix 5. Did you know?

Quiz:

1. Do you know that there is International Volunteer Day?

Goals:

popularize volunteerism in the school environment, increase the social activity of students, their motivation to participate in volunteer activities, promote the development of the volunteer movement .

Basic concepts of the lesson:

volunteering (volunteering)- is an unpaid, conscious, voluntary activity for the benefit of others;

Dear children and respected adults!

We have gathered with you today to talk about kindness, about being kind to your loved ones, about the desire to do good.

The head of the regional administration, Oleg Betin, signed the decree “On the development of volunteer activities in the Tambov region.”

According to the resolution, 2011 is declared the Year of Good Deeds in the Tambov region.

How should we treat older and weaker people?

What do older people especially need?

What can we do with you so that older people don’t feel lonely?

I want to start by reading the story by L.N. Tolstoy "The Old Grandfather and Granddaughters".

Grandfather became very old. His legs did not walk, his eyes did not see, his ears did not hear, he had no teeth. And when he ate, it flowed backwards from his mouth. His son and daughter-in-law stopped sitting him at the table and let him dine at the stove.

They brought him lunch in a cup. He wanted to move it, but he dropped it and broke it. The daughter-in-law began to scold the old man for ruining everything in the house and breaking cups, and said that now she would give him dinner in a basin. The old man just sighed and said nothing.

They are sitting, since the husband and wife are at home and watching - their little son is playing on the floor with planks - he is working on something. The father asked:

Why are you doing this, Misha?

And Misha says:

This is me, father, making the basin. When you and your mother are too old to feed you from this tub. The husband and wife looked at each other and began to cry. They felt ashamed that they had offended the old man so much; and from then on they began to sit him at the table and look after him.

Your grandparents, already elderly and often infirm, need sympathy and kind-hearted attention. Appreciate them! We need to pay great attention to parents, their health and well-being.

My good friend, please

Don't be afraid to do good

But please don't complain

Please, I need more.

Don't expect gratitude

For what you have done,

For those unexpected joys

Gifted with kindness.

Good is not valor!

Do not complain!

Don't be afraid to do good.

Helped a person - and rejoice,

No greater reward is needed.

So what is kindness?

Kindness is sensitivity, responsiveness, emotional disposition towards people, the desire to do good to others.

It is gratifying that concepts such as “kindness”, “benevolence”, “attention to each other”, “humanity”, “mercy” are now being revived.

Human kindness, mercy, the ability to rejoice and worry about other people create the basis of human happiness. By trying for the happiness of others, we find our own happiness. A person who does good to others and knows how to empathize feels happy.

Every person on earth wants the people around him to love him and take care of him. But not everyone knows that all this must be earned. Only a polite, kind and well-mannered person is always treated kindly by people around him. Only such a person is loved and respected by everyone, and only such a person has loyal, reliable and devoted friends.

Kindness helps people live, create, and make life beautiful.

1. Always do good and evil

In the power of all people.

But evil happens without difficulty,

It is more difficult to do good.

The beast gives birth to the beast,

A bird gives birth to a bird.

From good - good,

From evil, evil will be born.

Good, no matter how small it is,

Much better than the big bad.

2. Don’t offend people - retribution will come.

Someone's insult does not promise us happiness.

You will be loved by your neighbors

And you will know the joy of kindness,

Without wishing it on others

What you wouldn't wish for yourself.

Look at the universe without evil,

And with the gaze of reason, kindness, love.

Life is a sea of good deeds.

Build a ship and sail on the waves.

3. If you are polite

And they are not deaf to conscience,

You are the place without protest

Give in to the old woman.

If you are polite

In the soul, and not for show,

On the bus you will help

Climb for a disabled person.

And if you are polite,

Then in a conversation with my aunt,

And with grandfather and grandmother

You won't kill them.

And if you are polite,

To the one who is weaker

You will be the protector

Do not shy away from the strong.

4. It’s not at all easy to be kind,

Kindness does not depend on height.

Kindness brings people joy

And in return it does not require a reward.

You just have to, you just have to be kind

And in trouble we will not forget each other,

And the earth will spin faster

If you and I are kinder.

5. It’s not at all easy to be kind,

Kindness does not depend on height,

Kindness does not depend on color.

Kindness is not a carrot, not a candy.

Kindness does not age over the years,

Kindness will warm you from the cold,

If kindness is like the sun shining,

Adults and children rejoice.

6. Let's worship kindness!

Let's live with kindness in mind,

All in blue and starry beauty,

The land is good, it gives us bread,

Living water and trees in bloom.

Under this ever-restless sky

Let's fight for kindness!

No matter how life flies -

Don't regret your days,

Do a good deed

For the sake of people's happiness.

To make the heart burn,

And it didn’t smolder in the darkness,

Do a good deed -

That's why we live on earth!

7. Oh, how we need kind words!

We have convinced ourselves of this more than once,

Or maybe it’s not words but deeds that are important?

Deeds are deeds, and words are words.

They live with each of us,

At the bottom of the soul are stored until time,

To pronounce them at that very hour,

When others need them.

Good deeds and volunteers are two close concepts.

What is volunteering?

Volunteering is an unpaid, conscious, voluntary activity for the benefit of others. Anyone who consciously and selflessly works for the benefit of others can be called a volunteer.

Volunteering is understood differently by different people. However, despite the wide variety of understandings, it is possible to identify some basic characteristics inherent in volunteering.

Reward. A volunteer must not engage in volunteer activities primarily for financial gain, and any financial compensation must be less than the value of the work performed.

Good will. Although the motivation to participate in volunteer activities will probably always consist of several reasons, including pressure from colleagues (or parents) and duty to society, such activities should still be carried out voluntarily, without coercion from others.

Benefits brought. There must be a specific beneficiary or group of beneficiaries (including abstract concepts such as the environment or society itself), in addition to (or in addition to) the volunteer's family or friends.

Who can become a volunteer?

Most often, the answer to this question is this: it can be an adult, skilled and responsible, who can devote his time and skill to voluntary work. Every can become a volunteer in any area of public life where there is a need.

What can volunteers do?

Volunteers can:

Perform tasks not related to permanent paid work;

Add a new dimension and new people to the organization;

Bring new ideas to the organization;

Create public opinion about the organization in society;

Disseminate information about the organization in personal communication with people;

Help with fundraising;

Encourage civic engagement.

Principles of volunteering.

No matter how voluntary work is structured, it has three general principles:

No reward. Voluntary assistance provided by a person or group of people does not provide financial reward. However, an organization that invites a volunteer to do some work can pay for travel expenses, food, special clothing, etc.

No coercion.

Volunteering is often confused with some other forms of social activity, for example, such as:

Missionary (from Latin missio - sending, order) - one of the forms of activity of religious and educational organizations. Its main goal is the conversion of non-believers or representatives of other religions. Missionaries, like volunteers, work for free. But their goal is to spiritually help people through conversion.

Donation (Latin donare - give) - voluntary provision of part of the blood, as well as other tissues or organs for medicinal purposes.

Charity — providing free assistance (donations) to those who need it. Donations can be private or collective, when the money is transferred by an organization. This can be not only financial resources, but also things, food, toys, medicines, etc.

Patronage - patronage of art, sciences, collecting large libraries, collections, creating art galleries, theaters, etc. Unlike volunteering, the help of patrons and philanthropists does not consist in providing their services and labor, but in providing material support.

In Russia today, the importance of developing volunteerism has been declared at the very top echelons of power. In his Address to the Federal Assembly in 2007, Russian President V. Putin noted the importance of developing volunteerism in Russia: “The number of operating non-governmental organizations in the country is also growing. As well as their members - volunteers performing various socially significant work. There are already about 8 million of them in Russia. All these are real indicators of the formation of an active civil society in Russia.”

Volunteer Commandments:

be responsible in your relationships with each other;

be honest, sincere and friendly, smile at each other;

help others make optimal decisions in conflict situations;

do not make unrealistic promises;

be genuinely interested in other people;

remember that a person’s name is the sweetest and most important sound for him in any language;

try to please people not only internally, but also externally;

remember a sense of proportion;

When helping a person, do not beg for his merits;

strive to make people happy to do whatYou offer them.

Why do I need all this?

Today, only 5% of the Russian population is involved in volunteer work. However, research shows that more than 40% of people are willing to become more actively involved in community service.

"Why do you need it?" - this is a question that volunteers are asked thousands of times by their friends, relatives, and colleagues.

“I just like helping others.”

“I have a similar problem and I want to solve it together with others.” Gaining new knowledge and skills.

“It works for my image.”

“I want something in life other than a stuffy office, beer and TV.”

Russian tradition of mercy

In a Russian peasant family, they tried to teach children mercy, pity and compassion for people in distress, the unfortunate, the wretched and the poor. The entire life of the family gave the children examples of this kind of behavior. Village custom obliged the peasants to welcome a tired traveler knocking on the door into their home, warm him up, feed him and comfort him if he was sad. The poor and wretched were received in the house with the same benevolence as other travelers. It was generally accepted that giving alms, showing pity and helping the sick and providing moral support to the wretched was a necessary and godly thing.

Help, it was explained to the children, should be provided to everyone who needs it: people who have suffered from a fire or natural disaster, who have lost their breadwinner, large families in need.
The educational word was supported by deeds: people helped fire victims, shared their last piece of bread with them, tried to console them and shelter them.

People helped widows and orphans to plow and sow the land and harvest. Caring that the child’s life be prosperous, that he be in harmony with himself, with people near and far, the peasants sought to show their children the need to show kindness to people: “To do good is to amuse yourself,” try not to hold a grudge against people, for “An evil person is like coal: if it doesn’t burn, it blackens,” and refuse to take revenge for insults. They especially tried to protect the child from vindictiveness. They offered to respond to the insult without delaying it for a long time, right there on the spot, with a word or a fist, or to forgive the offender for his “unreasonable behavior.”

Guys, I urge you: hurry up to do good, let’s decorate your life and the lives of the people around us with good deeds.

Finishing our lesson, I am sure that there is much more goodness in your hearts.

You will become more careful towards your loved ones and all living things. You will not become indifferent to someone else's misfortune.

My dear old people
My old people have grown old -
Unnoticed as it happens -
And already with someone’s light hand
Everyone calls my mother grandma.

And the father worries more and more often,
Even though he pretends to be healthy...
There are no hearts dearer to me,
Than the hearts of these two old men.

RF--
My dear old people!
Let me kiss you now.
My young old people,
We will fight again, we will fight again!

Gray hair suits both of you
And wrinkles with slanting rays -
And I will take your names,
To name their daughter and son.

And your eyes will become brighter,
And no one can blow out the fire -
After all, grandchildren love children more,
Only I'm not jealous at all.

Your hands are strong
Protect the weak
Your thoughts are true
Teach a fool
Your eyes, your soul
Kind and pure
Give it to him
Who hurts alone

Do good throughout the world
Do good for others
Not for the beautiful thank you
Hearing you nearby

Do good throughout the world
Do good for others
Not for the beautiful thank you
Hearing you nearby

I'll fly to the sky
I'll scream my fill
I'll tell you all the secrets of the day
Before dawn
I'll fly to the sky
I'll scream my fill
I'll tell you all the secrets of the day
Before dawn

Do good throughout the world
Do good for others
Not for the beautiful thank you
Hearing you nearby

Do good throughout the world
Do good for others
Not for the beautiful thank you
Hearing you nearby

The road of goodness
1.
Ask strict life which way to go?
Where in the world should you go in the morning?

Follow the sun, even though this path is unknown,
Go, my friend, always follow the path of goodness.

2.
Forget your worries, ups and downs,
Don't whine when fate doesn't behave like a sister,

But if things are bad with a friend, don’t rely on a miracle,
Hurry to him, always or along the path of goodness.

3.
Oh, how many different doubts and temptations there will be,
Don't forget that this life is not a child's play.

Go, my friend, always follow the path of goodness.
Drive away temptations, learn the unspoken law,
Go, my friend, always follow the path of goodness.

Drive away temptations, learn the unspoken law,
Go, my friend, always follow the path of goodness.
Drive away temptations, learn the unspoken law,

Go, my friend, always follow the path of goodness.
